About Dr Martens...
"The history of subculture is a chronicle of being different. Back in the 1950s, when the first generation of teenagers fired up a youth revolution, their goal was to look and behave differently to their parents. Previously, young people had been stylistic carbon copies of their elders. But with the advent of first-generation rock 'n' roll and also Teddy Boys, a generational schism cracked open that would never again be rendered shut."
I was lucky enough on behalf of Bonafide Supernova to go to the newly opened 'Dr Marten's' Store in Birmingham bull ring. I work for the lovely Bonafide supernova as a blogger. So I attend a number of events etc and cover them for the blog. Last week i got asked to attend the Dr martens store to go to the store, look around, along with asking the customers a few questions and getting a view opinions on Dr Martens new collection of the 'heeled dr martens'.
The day didn't start off too well as the bull ring got closed for a large amount of time between 1;30-3:00 due to a very saddening accident. In the end me and Tamara from Bonafide finally got into the store with the photographer Joesph.  Once we was in the store we was instantly welcomed by the staff. All of the staff were so unique in their own style. We were then showed around the store from what's what, what styles, the different collection etc.
we was then able to write down all the different items we would like to try on. From the above images you can see a number of differnt styles. I took so many pictures so i've tried to narrow them down! I was highly surprised that they stocked clothing and bags! I thought Dr martens was all about the shoe's! I was honestly shocked by how lovely their collection was! As you can see I'm wearing a number of their items. Through-out the time we spent in the store I got photographed once i have these images i'll post them up for you! This post was just to show you a what I got up to, along with a few pictures from the day!
My opinion of the 'Dr Martens' has now changed what are your opinions?
